Dennehy and Strong will join Irish theatre producer and writer Josephine Hart for the 7 PM evening of poetry. Hart, who has presented her British Library poetry readings to great acclaim in the U.K., brings the series to America for the first time. The program also celebrates the publication of Hart's book, "Catching Life by the Throat: How to Read a Poem and Why." A 6:30 PM reception will precede the 7 PM readings. The Conservators Program, which directly supports the Library's Annual Fund, is a membership group of nearly 800 individuals.
Dennehy is a two-time Tony Award winner for his performances in Death of a Salesman and Long Day's Journey Into Night. He most recently appeared in the Public Theater staging of Richard Nelson's Conversations in Tusculum, and will head to Hartford Stage in a double bill of Hughie and Krapp's Last Tape.
Mark Strong, an Olivier nominee for the Donmar Warehouse staging of Twelfth Night, has appeared in the films "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," "Sunshine," "Fever Pitch" and "Emma."
