News Desert Song Sounds in San Gabriel and Glendale, CA, May 7 The Music Theatre of Southern California will unveil its production of The Desert Song May 7 at the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium for a 13-performance run. On May 28 the same production will open at MTSC's second space, The Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale, for five performances.

The Music Theatre of Southern California will unveil its production of The Desert Song May 7 at the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium for a 13-performance run. On May 28 the same production will open at MTSC's second space, The Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale, for five performances. In Desert Song, a handsome sheik, The Red Shadow, kidnaps a beautiful woman and carries her off to the desert. The operetta has music by Sigmund Romberg with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein and Frank Mandel.
