News Dietrich & Chevalier to Close Off-Broadway Dec. 26 The Off-Broadway musical Dietrich & Chevalier, starring Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli and Jodi Stevens, will end its run Dec. 26 at St. Luke's Theatre.

Pamela Hall (Danny & Sylvia, The Rise and Fall of Dorothy Hale) directed Jerry Mayer's musical about Marlene Dietrich and Maurice Chevalier. Dietrich & Chevalier began previews June 5 and officially opened Off-Broadway June 20.

Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Jacques Brel…) stars as Chevalier opposite Stevens (Jekyll & Hyde, Urban Cowboy) as Dietrich. Donald Corren (Souvenir, Torch Song Trilogy) is cast in a variety of roles in the musical that tells of the lifelong friendship between the two screen icons.

Mayer's musical explores the friendship between Dietrich and Chevalier, who were married to others but remained close throughout their lives. Songs featured in the production are "Falling in Love Again," "Louise," "Lili Marleen," "Mimi," "No Love, No Nothin'," "Valentine" and "The Boys in the Backroom."

The production has musical direction by Ken Lundie with musical staging by Gene Castle. Designers include Scott Heineman and Josh Iacovelli (scenic design), Graham Kindred (lighting design), Karen Flood (costume design) and Chris Jensen (multimedia design).
