Buntrock, who has stuttered from a young age, has used theatre as an integral role in dealing with his lifelong struggle. After his move to New York City, Buntrock discovered Our Time, a non-profit organization that, by design, helps youths who stutter through the use of the arts.
Our Time Theatre Company is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping kids who stutter, ages 8-18, improve their confidence and communication skills. Actor, director, and teacher Taro Alexander founded Our Time in 2001 because as a life-long person who stutters and performer, he experienced first-hand the challenges that stuttering can cause for a young person, as well as the outlet that the performing arts can offer. This speech disorder affects nearly 65 million people worldwide.
Our Time offers its NYC programming free of charge and provides financial aid to all youth in need for Camp Our Time.
