Fans can expect composer-lyricist David Yazbek and stars John Lithgow, Norbert Leo Butz (who won a Tony Award for his work in the show), Sherie Rene Scott, Joanna Gleason, Gregory Jbara and Sara Gettelfinger, 5-6 PM. Tower Records Lincoln Square is at 1961 Broadway at 66th Street. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the film comedy of the same name about two con men (Lithgow and Butz) attempting to fleece women out of their dough. Performances continue at the Imperial Theatre.
The cast album is available on the Ghostlight label, a division of Sh-K-Boom Records. In addition to all the musical numbers from the show, the disc features a 32-page booklet with photos, liner notes and lyrics, as well as several bonus tracks, including the piano and voice recording of "Nothing Is Too Wonderful To Be True," performed by Sherie Rene Scott with Bill Charlap on piano. In the show, the song takes a comic turn, but in the added track the lyric is legit and romantic.
The recording is produced by David Yazbek and Billy Strauss; Kurt Deutsch is album executive producer.
