SEEKING: LITTLE LIONS

Walt Disney Theatrical Productions announced an open call audition for African-American and Hispanic male and female children who sing, 7 to 16 years-old, for its workshop productions of The Lion King and Aida.

Children selected from the auditions will participate in workshops for both productions, and will be considered for roles in the upcoming Broadway productions, although no dates or theatres for Broadway have yet been announced.

All children who wish to audition must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and it is requested that each child bring the sheet music for one uptempo song that shows personality. It is not essential to prepare a song, but a current photograph is required. Tape recorded music is not welcome, as a pianist will be present for the auditions. Auditions for the workshops of The Lion King and Aida are on Saturday, June 1, at Raw Space, 529 West 42nd Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues in Manhattan. Sign-up is scheduled to begin at 8:45am and auditions at 10am. Auditioners should be prepared to stay until late afternoon. For more information, please call (212) 827-5467.
