News Dominate Yourself Begins FringeNYC Run Aug. 14 Amy Heidt's solo comedy Dominate Yourself, a crash course in self help from the S&M industry, begins performances as part of the New York International Fringe Festival Aug. 14.

Under the direction of Amanda Duarte (Lucky Pink Wonderland, Old Money, Jack Goes Boating), Heidt's solo work runs through Aug. 26 at HERE's Dorothy B. Williams Theater. Press notes for Dominate Yourself read: "You will experience the morning session of a sublimely silly self-help program inspired by founder Katherine's personal history in the S&M industry. Five...unique women share their weird, hilarious and strangely touching stories about how they realized their inner 'bottoms' were on 'top' and vice versa. And then there's Amy, the jaded Office Manager who is forced to fill in and lead the morning seminar despite never having gone through the program and having zero interest in doing so. Breaking through a haze of contempt and a life of 'safe words' and Old Navy sale-rack items, Amy learns life-altering lessons about letting go, conquering her ambiguity, the power of toast and using her bottom to get to the top."

Heidt's previous show Booze Cruise played a nine-month engagement at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She has appeared in Pump Boys & Dinettes, The Shape of Things and The St. Ignatius First Annual Hanukkah Pageant Off-Broadway. Heidt's film credits include "Jim" and "The Pink House."
