The world premiere of Eddie and Dave by Amy Staats will now play an additional week at Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2. Previously scheduled through February 10, the extended limited run will now continue through February 17.

Eddie and Dave, a story of hubris, friendship, family, fame, and musical genius, is directed by Margot Bordelon. The play is a gender-bending retelling of the rise and fall of Pasadena’s most groundbreaking ’80s rockers told through the foggy lens of a lonely, out-of-work MTV-VJ.

Playwright Staats stars alongside Vanessa Aspillaga, Megan Hill, Omer Abbas Salem, and Adina Verson.

Eddie and Dave began January 10 ahead of a January 22 opening. The production features scenic design by Reid Thompson, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Palmer Hefferan, projections by Shawn Boyle, original compositions by Michael Thurber, hair and wigs by Cookie Jordan, fight direction by Mike Rossmy, and casting by Caparelliotis Casting: Lauren Port, CSA.

Staats is Atlantic Theater Company's 2017–2018 playwright in residence. Eddie and Dave is the capstone of her yearlong residency, supported by The Tow Foundation, with the theatre. Her other plays include Hands and I Hope She’ll Be Okay.
