News Eddie Izzard's Egg Get Extra Time in London

Eddie Izzard fans will have an extra two weeks to see him perform in A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg, Peter Nichols' black comedy about coping with a severely disabled child.

Izzard took over the role of Bri from film star Clive Owen, and won rave reviews for his role as the father who reached breaking point after years of looking after his handicapped daughter with his equally long-suffering (but rather more resilient) wife, played by Victoria Hamilton. Prunella Scales co-stars as Bri's battle-axe of a mother.

001 was a good year for Nichols, with the success of his Privates on Parade at the Donmar as well as Joe Egg at the Comedy, and now 2002 has started well for him with this (albeit brief) extension of Joe Egg's run to 9th February.
