Classic Arts News   Elina Garanca Drops Out of Mostly Mozart Festival
Mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca will not appear at the Mostly Mozart festival in August as planned, Lincoln Center announced. She has a scheduling conflict.

The up-and-coming singer was to sing "Parto, Parto" from Mozart's La clemenza di Tito with the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, conducted by pianist Christian Zacharias, on August 11 and 12. A new soloist and a change in program will be announced later.

The Italian wind ensemble Zefiro will also miss its scheduled appearances, on August 19 and 20, because of the loss of its government subsidy. The concerts were to mark the group's U.S. debut.

Lincoln Center also said that the August 20 "Joshua Bell and Friends" concert would feature pianist Frederic Chiu and the Mir‹ Quartet, among other guests yet to be announced.
