News Elphaba Standby Will Take Over Lead Role in London's Wicked London's current standby for the role of Elphaba, Emma Hatton, is to graduate to that lead role, beginning performances Feb. 2, 2015. She will succeed Kerry Ellis (who plays the role through Oct. 25) and Jennifer DiNoia (who takes over Oct. 27 to Jan. 31).

Savannah Stevenson continues throughout in the role of Glinda.

Hatton has previously appeared in the West End as understudy for Scaramouche and Meatloaf in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre and as Donna in Dreamcoats and Petticoats at the Savoy, Playhouse and on the U.K. tour, as well as the original cast recording for the latter. She has also appeared on the fringe in When Midnight Strikes, for which she can also be heard on the original cast recording. She has also appeared as a regular solo vocalist at the Savoy Hotel and Ronnie Scott's.
