Vienna's privately-owned "Metropol-Theatre" is still ridin' high when it comes to musicals. The highly successful run of Guys and Dolls has just ended. Now the "King" comes to town.
After having triumphed in Elvis at the "Klagenfurter Stadttheater", Mark Janicello will play Elvis Presley for another 32 performances, starting Nov. 14.
The 35-year-old Janicello, a born New Yorker with classical voice training, has drawn accolades for his portrayal of the "King of Rock 'n' Roll". Kati Schober-Elia plays his mother Gladys as well as his wife Priscilla, Eckhard Ruehl is Colonel Parker.
Anna Vaughan has written and directs this "Musical Biography", Bob Edwards is the musical director.
Performance dates: Nov. 14/15, 18/19, 21, 29. Dec. 1/2, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14 - 17, 19/20, 23, 26/27, 29-31. Jan. 1.
