Skeggs is an alumna of the renowned Summer Musical Theater Workshop at Kaufman Music Center. On her visit back to Kaufman, she talked with kids about her experience in the workshop and her transition to a professional career. The children attending the Summer Musical Theater Workshop surprised Skeggs by singing a song she sang when she was a camper at the workshop.
The Summer Musical Theater Workshop has been a part of Kaufman Music Center’s curriculum for 26 years. This unique five-week program gives kids the opportunity to perform original musicals written specially for them. Children ages 6 to 17 participate in all aspects of producing a show, working with lyricists, composers, choreographers and music directors to create 7 original plays. Campers are scheduled to perform the full-scale productions on July 28th and 29th at the Merkin Concert Hall.
