Emmy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich said that "something that reflects an homage" to Monteith is in the works, but the extent of the tribute is to be determined.
"If Cory had passed away in March, we'd have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective," he added. "The reason we're getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago. But we are going to deal with it." An homage to Monteith separate from the annual "In Memorium" segment is under consideration.
In other "Glee" news, Jayma Mays, who plays school counselor Emma Pillsbury, confirmed to Access Hollywood that the upcoming season will be her last.
