News Enda Walsh's Misterman, With Cillian Murphy, Extends at St. Ann's Warehouse St. Ann's Warehouse has added two additional performances of Enda Walsh's dark solo comedy Misterman, starring Cillian Murphy, which will now conclude Dec. 22.

Misterman began performances at St. Ann's Nov. 30 and officially opened Dec. 4. It now plays an additional matinee on Dec. 21 at 2 PM and an 8 PM final performance on Dec. 22. It was originally scheduled to end its run Dec. 21 following the 8 PM performance.

Walsh, whose plays The Walworth Farce, New Electric Ballroom and Penelope debuted at St. Ann's in previous seasons, directs Misterman. Walsh is also the book writer of the acclaimed new musical Once, which will arrive on Broadway this winter after a run at the New York Theatre Workshop.

Murphy ("Inception," "The Dark Knight/Batman Begins"), who also appeared in Walsh's Disco Pigs, starred in the world premiere of Misterman at the Galway Arts Festival last summer.

Misterman is billed as "a dark, dangerous and blisteringly funny tale about a proselytizing, small-town fanatic on his own judgment day. Portraying the unraveling protagonist Thomas Magill, self-proclaimed moral leader of Inishfree, Murphy navigates an emotional spectrum that ranges from minutely subtle to unsettlingly explosive. Like a child trying to push a rock up a hill, in an abandoned warehouse, Magill imagines journeying through the village, seeking salvation for his neighbors. All the while hearing voices in his head, on reel-to-reel tapes that he has recorded, and becoming all the characters live, he desperately strives to settle his actions of the recent past. As he becomes increasingly unhinged, surprisingly, he becomes sadder and more winning to the bitter end. Walsh describes it as 'a really bad dress rehearsal for God's right hand man.'"

Misterman has set design by Jamie Vartan, lighting design by Adam Silverman and sound design by Gregory Clarke. It features an original score by Donnacha Dennehy. For tickets phone (718) 254-8779 or visit artsatstanns.org.

St. Ann's Warehouse is located at 38 Water Street (between Main and Dock St.) in Brooklyn, New York.
