Classic Arts News English National Opera Announces Cheap-Seats Initiative The English National Opera will sell 12,000 tickets for the 2005-06 season at Ô£20 each, the company announced. The Dress Circle seats normally cost Ô£45.
Among the operas for which the tickets will be made available are Mozart's CosÐ fan tutte, Britten's Billy Budd, and film director Anthony Mingella's new production of Puccini's Madam Butterfly.

The initiative is part of a three-year, Ô£3 million sponsorship of the ENO by the broadcasters Sky and Artsworld.

"The Sky Seats offer reaffirms our commitment to making opera as accessible as possible," said artistic director and CEO Sešn Doran in a statement. "The Sky Seats offer some of the best seats in the house at affordable prices which I hope will attract newcomers to ENO and the London Coliseum."
