Fame: The Musical, which closes at the Cambridge Theatre on August 31, 2002, will transfer to the Aldwych Theatre on September 4, 2002. Fame has been a hit film and a long-running television series, but over the last few years has found its real style as a stage musical, following the struggles and successes of a group of New York drama and dance students at New York's legendary High School of the Performing Arts.

This production originally opened in June 1995 at the Cambridge Theatre, and since that time it has returned to various theatres in the West End. Prior to its transfer to the Aldwych theatre, it will have notched up a combined West End run of three years.

The next production at the Cambridge Theatre is anticipated to be the musical Our House, based on the music of the pop group Madness, which is expected to open in September 2002.
