News Family-Friendly Comedy That Beautiful Laugh, With Alan Tudyk, Will Play La MaMa "Suburgatory" TV star Alan Tudyk will be part of the New York premiere of Orlando Pabotoy's That Beautiful Laugh, which will debut at La MaMa March 16.

The comedy, which incorporates clowning and live music, is the inaugural presentation of the Artigiani Troupe. Director-creator Pabotoy helms the production that will play a limited engagement through March 25.

In addition to Tudyk (Epic Proportions, Prelude to a Kiss, "Arrested Development"), the cast includes Julia Ogilvie and Carlton Ward. Musician Harrison Beck will accompany the cast on accordion and vocals. Additional casting is expected.

According to La MaMa, "That Beautiful Laugh is an outrageously high-energy, rhythmically-driven comedy piece that features clowning, live music and joy! Created by the director, Orlando Pabotoy, That Beautiful Laugh was inspired by his nightly bedtime ritual of developing stories with his five-year-old son. This family friendly show, based on his son’s musings on different types of laughter, tells the story of a world where laughter is forgotten and rediscovered. Original music combined with new renditions of old favorites compliment this hilarious journey about the power and beauty of laughter in our lives."

The creative team includes Byron Easley (choreography), Scott Tedmon-Jones (set design) Peter West (lighting design) and Tilly Grimes (costume design).
