News FANY Awards To Announce Noms May 3, Awards June 25 The Friends of New York Theatre's Awards (the FANYs) will announce their nominations May 3 with the awards ceremony to follow on June 25. The annual awards are voted on by the Friends' members, with the FANY season running from March 28, 1999 to March 30, 2000.

The Friends of New York Theatre's Awards (the FANYs) will announce their nominations May 3 with the awards ceremony to follow on June 25. The annual awards are voted on by the Friends' members, with the FANY season running from March 28, 1999 to March 30, 2000.

Since 2000's deadline was March 30, this year's Awards will not include The Green Bird, The Music Man, Dirty Blonde and Uncle Vanya. 1999 shows rendered ineligible for last year's awards which will be included in 2000 are The Iceman Cometh, Marlene, Ring Round the Moon, Fascinating Rhythm, Amy's View, It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and The Lonesome West.

The Friends of New York Theatre Awards are chosen by the members of their organization, which is open to anyone for a membership fee. Dues range from $200-$25. Tickets for the FANY Awards run $50 and $75.
