News Felder's Beethoven, As I Knew Him Will Kick Off Geffen Playhouse Season The final part of Hershey Felder's "The Composer Sonata" — his acclaimed composer trilogy — will kick off the Geffen Playhouse's 2008-2009 season in Los Angeles, CA.

Entitled Beethoven, As I Knew Him, the production penned by and starring Felder will play the Geffen Aug. 19-Oct. 12 with an official opening scheduled for Aug. 27. Joel Zwick will direct. Beethoven, As I Knew Him follows Felder's previous composer salutes, George Gershwin Alone and Monsieur Chopin. Felder's latest work features music by Ludwig van Beethoven with scenic design by Francois-Pierre Couture, lighting design by Richard Norwood, sound design by Erik Carstensen, projection design/production management by Matt Marsden, assistant lighting design by Tamora Wilson and production stage management by GiGi Garcia.

In Beethoven, As I Knew Him, press notes state, "Hershey Felder brings the character of Ludwig van Beethoven to life through the eyes of Beethoven's last surviving friend, as well as through the eternal sounds of the maestro's greatest musical works."
