Presented by the Magnet Theater, the festival continues through Oct. 20. 

The festival features performances by Baby Wants Candy, The Improvised Sondheim Project, ComedySportz, The Lupones, North Coast, Happy Karaoke Fun Time!, Vox Solo, Trudy Carmichael's Musical Mixer, Ashland, The Made-Up Musical, BEEES!, Aquarius, Mansical, The Jezebelles, La Donna Improvvisata, Legend, Fancy Mantlepiece, THEM, Mint Condition, Petting Zoo, Madde Gibba and The Proverbial Loons.

The festival also features up-and-coming performers in the NYMIF I.P.O. (Initial Public Offering). This year's lineup includes Big D and the Closers, The Maple Clefs, Yo Gloria and Fancyman.

"Over 100 performers from as far as Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Washington DC and as close as Broadway, NYC will converge on the Magnet Theater stage to create fully improvised musical performances — ranging from traditional musical theatre fare to adrenaline-pumping rap battles," press notes state. "The Magnet Theater is recognized as the center for musical improv study and performance in the U.S."

A special performance to benefit Gilda's Club of New York City to raise funds and awareness for people living with cancer will be given Oct. 20. Performers include the all-female musical improv troupe "Generation G," Sharón Clark and Sam Underwood.  More information is available by visiting magnettheater.com.
