News Final eBay Bid for May 18 Les Miz Tix Hits $18,750; BC/EFA Benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is $18,750 fatter this week thanks to an online eBay bidder who will fork over the five figures in exchange for two tickets to the final performance of Broadway's Les Misérables May 18.

Bidding in the online auction ran May 7-14 with a starting bid of $50. The winning bid was placed by someone named "cammacfan." By noon May 13, the bidding had reached $13,100.

Admission to the sold-out May 18 show at the Imperial Theatre includes entry to the gala reception at Rockefeller Center following the milestone. The performance itself includes a special added-on finale in addition to the show, finale and curtain call that fans have come to love for the past 16 years.

The special finale after the show will include members of the original, former and current companies of Les Miz plus some 40 schoolkids from the East Coast who have recently appeared in the newly-licensed school edition of the show. More than 300 performers are involved in the finale.

"This is the first time any tickets for the final performance have been made available to the public, as the evening is an invitation-only event for the hundreds and hundreds of alumni that have worked on the show over the past 16 years and 6,680 performances," according to an earlier statement about the auction. The winning bidder will receive two orchestra tickets to the final performance (Sunday, May 18 at 6 PM at The Imperial Theatre, 249 West 45th Street), featuring a once in-a-lifetime extended Finale and two passes to the Closing Party at The Summer Garden located in Rockefeller Center. This package does not include transportation.

In its 16 years, the Broadway Les Miz troupe has helped raise over $1.5 million for BC/EFA, the services and advocacy organization for those affected by HIV, AIDS and other health issues.
