News First Chicago Improv Festival Gears Up for Laughs, to April 5 CHICAGO -- As hot a comedy venue as it's ever been, the 'First City' of improvisation will finally have a festival to prove it. Hosted, appropriately, by Chicago's Second City and running from Mar. 31 through April 5, the First Annual Chicago Improv Festival will assemble Chicago alumnae and troupes from New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and South Carolina, as well as such local staples as The Free Associates, the ImprovOlympic, Comedy Sports, Annoyance Theatre and Factory Theatre. Workshops and lectures will cap the week- long festival.
