News Floyd Replaces Beasley in Grecian Formula Ramona Floyd will replace the previously announced Allyce Beasley in the upcoming production of The Grecian Formula at the Bleecker Street Theatre.

"Moonlighting" star Beasley, according to a press release, has withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict. Stage and screen actress Ramona Floyd ("Jingle Hell," The Monument) will now play the role of Phye.

Part of the 2008 NY International Fringe Festival, Carter Anne McGowan's comedy will play the Bleecker Street Aug. 8-24. Mary Jo Lodge directs.

The cast also features Jolly Abraham (Coram Boy, Bombay Dreams), Rich Affannato (Les Misérables), Anthony Cochrane (Cymbeline, Coast of Utopia), Kevin Carolan (The Ritz, Chicago, Dirty Blonde), Todd Lawson ( Summer and Smoke), Jason Rosoff (Stomp), Nick Sullivan (Footloose), Robert Hooghkirk, Elena Dones, Brian Marino, Jason Pintar, Holly Sansom and Julia Tokarcik.

The Grecian Formula, according to press notes, is "playwright Carter Anne McGowan's 'recreation' (and by 'recreation' we mean 'totally made up version') of the backstage comedy behind the first drama, [which] takes us to ancient Greece, home of the first democracy…the first Olympic Games….and the first play, which naturally spawned the first producer, the first snide critic, the first 'idea man' (and therefore the first ghostwriter), and the first award for best play. The Grecian Formula - complete with wily slaves, choral odes, lovers parted, and even an eleven o'clock number – asks the question: How far would you go to win the phallus?"

The creative team includes Janus Stefanowicz (costume designer), Alisa Sickora Kleckner (mask designer), David O. Rogers (sound designer) and Robert Hartman (original music). Show times are Aug. 8 at 5:15 PM, Aug. 12 at 10 PM, Aug. 16 at 7:30 PM, Aug. 17 at noon and Aug. 20 at 9:45 PM.

The Bleecker Street Theatre is located at 45 Bleecker Street. Tickets, priced $15, go on sale at midnight July 18 by calling (866) 468-7619 or by visiting www.fringenyc.org.
