Link told Playbill.com that he will play Berger in the semi-staged concert of the musical, which will run Aug. 3-7 at the Mahaiwe in Great Barrington and Aug. 10-14 at the Berkshire Music Hall in Pittsfield, MA. Before Hair, however, the young actor will be seen opposite Jeremy Kushnier in the Kansas City Starlight Theatre's production of Jesus Christ Superstar, July 11-17. Ryan Link joined the tour of Aida in Sept. 2002. Previously Link was a singer and musician, most recently fronting the Boston power-pop band Miss Fortune. A graduate of the University of Washington, Link has appeared in the independent films "Nocturne" and "Departure." Rent marked his Broadway debut.

Hair focuses on a group of hippies — called The Tribe — in New York City in the late 1960's, and gives voice to their passions and frustrations in loose scenes and interactions, including a rant against war, an embrace of free love (including a group nude scene) and odes to nature, life, drugs and multiculturalism. Book and lyrics are by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music is by Galt MacDermot. Tom O'Horgan was the original director. Heather MacRae, Melba Moore, Keith Carradine and Joe Morton were among performers in the early Broadway run of the show, at the Biltmore Theatre.

The Barrington Stage Company is located in Sheffield, MA. The box office can be reached by calling (413) 528-8888. Visit www.barringtonstageco.org for more information.
