LOS ANGELES -- The touring company of the Tony Award-winning musical Fosse takes over the Shubert Theatre for a June 14-July 9 run, officially opening Thursday night, June 15. Tickets are now on sale through Telecharge and the Shubert box office.

Winner of the 1999 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Lighting and Best Orchestrations, Fosse highlights the work of legendary choreographer-director Bob Fosse and is directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Ann Reinking. The latter also serves as co-choreographer and has been the leading force behind the mounting of the new production. Chet Walker recreated Fosse's dances and Gwen Verdon, Fosse's wife and Broadway leading lady, is artistic advisor to the production, which began performances in September 1999 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre in Chicago.

Featured are showcase classic Fosse dance numbers such as "Steam Heat," "Big Spender" and "Sing, Sing, Sing," plus rarely seen dance and musical numbers from the choreographer's earliest works, as well as many numbers from films and TV shows that have never been seen on stage before.

The tour stars Reva Rice (who was in the original Toronto company and also performed on Broadway) and Linda Bowen, alongside three featured dancers: Terace Jones, April Nixon and Greg Reuter.

In 1973, Fosse became the first director in history to win the Oscar, Tony and Emmy awards in a single year for the film version of Cabaret, the Broadway musical Pippin and the TV special "Liza With a Z." Telecharge can be reached at (800) 447-7400 or www.telecharge.com. Shubert Theatre is located at 2020 Avenue of the Stars.
