Part of the Shorenstein Hays Nederlander (SHN) theatre series, Jersey Boys will start its cross-country jaunt from one the company's three venues, the Curran Theatre. Casting and further cities are yet to be announced.

From blue-collar beginnings to gold-record status, the story of American pop group The Four Seasons currently comes to life on Broadway. Des McAnuff (700 Sundays, The Who's Tommy) directed the musical Jersey Boys which began Oct. 4, 2005 and opened at the August Wilson Theatre Nov. 6.

Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The new musical is billed as "The story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time," according to the production notes. "They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide — all before they were 30."

Jersey Boys is produced on Broadway by Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Pelican Group, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner/Oshen/Staton/Bell/Mayerson Group.
