News Fox's "American Idol" Series Coming to an End The record-breaking singing reality competition "American Idol" will enjoy one final season on Fox, according to Deadline.com.

The 15th season of the hit series, which will begin in January 2016, will be its last.

Ryan Seacrest, who has been with the series since its inception, will again host. Judges will include Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.

In addition to the singing of the various contestants, the final competition will also "reflect on the show’s run and some of its notable alumni."

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple, After Midnight), Taylor Hicks (Grease), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Jekyll and Hyde, Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray, Hair), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
