News Free Reading of Batistick's Port Authority Throwdown Offered March 29 Out Loud, the free weekly Manhattan play-reading series, continues March 29 with Port Authority Throwdown.

Mike Batistick's play will be read at 7 PM at the Ars Nova Theatre. Directed by Michael John Garces, the reading will feature the talents of Stephen Guirgis, Hasani Issa, Diane Landers and Debargo Sanyal. According to production notes, Port Authority Throwdown concerns "a Pakistani taxi driver, a Bible-toting missionary, a white soul-food cook and a sexually experimental African-American man [who] cross paths on a street corner near Port Authority." Port Authority Throwdown was presented as part of the American Living Room series at HERE Arts Center in Manhattan in July 2003. Playwright Batistick is also the author of Bodega Lung Phat, Ponies, Chicken and Bosworth's Shoulder.

The Ars Nova Theater is located in New York City at 511 West 54th Street. Presented by the Ars Nova Theater and the Underwood Theater, there is no charge to attend the Out Loud series, although reservations are required. Call (212) 977-1700.
