Ryan will co-star in "All About the Andersons," which will air Fridays at 9:30 PM on the WB. Ryan is set to play comic Anthony Anderson's mother, Flo Anderson, in the sitcom, which also features John Amos, Paul Bartholomew, Aimee Garcia and Damani Roberts. The comedy concerns comedian Anderson, who plays a struggling actor and single dad who moves back into his parents' home and "suddenly remembers why he left in the first place." Broadway veteran Ryan, now playing Matron "Mama" Morton in the Chicago tour, will leave that production mid-summer to begin filming the series.
Ryan made her Broadway debut in the Fats Waller revue Ain't Misbehavin'. She also starred on The Great White Way in Dreamgirls and One Mo' Time and in the national tours of Annie, South Pacific and Blues in the Night. Ryan's film credits include "Went to Coney Island," "Cotton Club" and "Dark Indigo."
