News Full Casting Announced for Return of Chichester The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Starring Henry Goodman The full cast has been announced for the return of Jonathan Church's production of Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, which premiered at Chichester's Minerva Theatre last year and returns there beginning Aug. 15 for a run through Sept. 14, prior to transferring to the West End's Duchess Theatre, beginning performances Sept. 18 prior to an official opening Sept. 25.

Joining the previously announced Henry Goodman, who reprises his role in the title role for which he won the Theatre Awards UK Best Performance in a Play Award, are Keith Baxter, Michael Feast, William Gaunt and Joe McGann.

The cast also includes Mark Carlisle, Alex Giannini, Amanda Gordon, Charlie Hamblett, Lucas Hare, Hugh John, Richard Mark, Lizzy McInnerny, Peter Moreton, Steve Simmonds, Colin Stinton, David Sturzaker and Benny Young.

Presented in a translation by George Tabori that has been revised by Alistair Beaton, it is designed by Simon Higlett, with lighting by Tim Mitchell, music by Matthew Scott and sound by Mike Walker.

The play is set in Chicago in the 1930s, where the Great Depression is the perfect time for Arturo Ui and his mob of gangsters to run protection rackets for both workers and businesses. Soon Ui's menacing shadow looms large across the entire city as he strives to seize absolute power.
