LOS ANGELES -- Performance artist Leo Garcia will reprise his childhood memoir My Alien Abduction, at Highways Performing Space, Feb. 13-14 and Feb. 20-21 at 8:30 PM. Garcia -- a filmmaker, writer and teacher -- received the Mark Taper Forum's Latino Theater Initiative Playwright's Fellowship.
My Alien Abduction has a text sprinkled with "carney trickery, cosmic symbology ... holy magic ... and song and dance," said LA Weekly critic Ron Athey. "It's about the hole created in Garcia's young life when he's -- you guessed it -- abducted by aliens."
