Cole (of the film "Office Space," and TV's "Entourage" and "The Good Wife") plays Arthur, a disillusioned Chicago donut shop owner who hires Franco, an eager young dreamer, played by Gathegi (Laurent in the "Twilight" films). Geffen artistic director Randall Arney directs the production.

In addition to Fisher (whose stage credits include The Year of Magical Thinking, Extremities and Boy Gets Girl) and Emmy Award winner Joosten (Mrs. Landingham on "The West Wing" and Mrs. McClusky on "Desperate Housewives"), the cast includes Brian Abraham, Ron Bottitta, Paul Dillon, Damon Gupton and Matt McTighe.

Arney and Letts are both ensemble members of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where Superior Donuts began prior to being picked up for Broadway; this is the first time a work by Letts (August: Osage County) has been performed at the Geffen Playhouse.

The production team includes set designer John Arnone, costume designer Laura Bauer, lighting designer Daniel Ionazzi, sound designer Richard Woodbury and production stage manager Mary Michele Miner.
