News Gemignani and Colella Will Sing at CAP21's Spring Gala Honoring Maltby and Shire CAP21 will pay tribute to the work of Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire during its 2010 Spring Gala.

As previously reported, the March 11 event will be held in Manhattan at the New-York Historical Society. CAP21 alumni and friends will perform a tribute to the work of the theatre composers; Maltby and Shire will also take to the stage to share songs and stories about their award-winning careers.

Newly announced for the evening are performers Alexander Gemignani and Jenn Colella as well as Maltby's daughter, Charlotte Maltby.

The evening will begin with a 6 PM reception, followed by the 7:30 PM performance with the honorees and CAP21 alumni. Dinner will be served at 9 PM.

Maltby and Shire's musicals or revues include Big; Closer Than Ever; Starting Here, Starting Now; Baby; and Take Flight, among others.

Proceeds will support The Theatre Company @ CAP21 and its projects. CAP21 dedicates itself to "the creation of new work, the development of new talent and the building of new audiences."
