The production, produced in association with Philadelphia Theatre Company, is directed by Kip Fagan (Off-Broadway's The Revisionists) and continues through May 18.

Mark Alhadeff, who was the understudy in the original Broadway production, portrays Thomas, the playwright and director, and Jenni Putney, most recently seen in A Dram of Drummhicit at La Jolla Playhouse, portrays Vanda.

The play, according to George Street, "focuses on Thomas, a playwright who is making his directorial debut with his newest play, Venus in Fur, an adaptation of a scandalous Victorian novella, 'Venus in Furs.' He is at the end of a long day of fruitless auditions for the lead female role. With a crash of thunder, Vanda enters, and soon the lines blur between fantasy and reality as she auditions for the role."

George Street Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ. For more information and tickets, call (732) 246-7717 or visit GSPOnline.org.
