Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Cristofer (The Shadow Box) authored the screenplay that is directed by Academy Award nominee Bob Balaban ("Gosford Park").
Oscar nominee and Tony winner Allen (Heidi Chronicles, "Nixon," "The Ice Storm," "The Crucible") portrays painter O'Keefe opposite fellow Tony winner Irons (The Real Thing, "The French Lieutenant's Woman," "Reversal of Fortune") as her husband, photographer Alfred Stieglitz. The film chronicles "the turbulent 20-year love affair" between the two artists.
Also featured in the film are Tony winner Tyne Daly as Mabel Dodge Stern, Linda Emond as Beck Strand and Henry Simmons as Jean Toomer.
"Georgia O’Keefe" is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin and Joan Allen as executive producers. Tony Mark is the producer.
Allen and Irons last appeared together in the short-lived Broadway production of Michael Jacobs play Impressionism, which ran March 24-May 10 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
