News "Glee" Cast Sails Past Beatles for Billboard Record The cast of "Glee" has set a record for appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a non-solo act, which was previously held by The Beatles, according to yahoo.com.

With six songs debuting on the chart for the week of Oct. 4, the cast of the hit Fox musical series now has a total of 75 songs that have been featured on the chart, beating The Beatles' 71.

"Glee" ranks third in overall appearances, behind Elvis Presley (108) and James Brown (91). Others in the top five include Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, with The Beatles ranked sixth.

According to Neilsen SoundScan, the "Glee" cast has sold 2.8 million albums and 11.5 million downloads.

The series airs Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on Fox.
