"This book is the story of how I got to where I am today – as incredible and unexpected as that journey has been. My hope is that you take something from it that will inspire and motivate you, and also make you realize that anything you want to accomplish in your life is completely possible," said Michele in a statement.

The book (to be released in hardcover, digital and audiobook formats) is currently available for pre-order as an eBook, an audiobook download, a compact disc and a hardcover book and will hit shelves May 20.

Book signings will be offered May 20 at 7 PM at Books & Greetings (271 Livingston Street in Northvale, NJ), May 21 at 7 PM at Barnes & Noble Union Square (33 East 17th Street in New York, NY) and May 22 at 7 PM at Barnes & Noble at The Grove (189 The Grove Drive in Los Angeles, CA).

"Brunette Ambition," according to press notes, "will take readers through Michele's journey from normal Bronx-born schoolgirl to Broadway child star to lead actress in one of the most popular shows on television. With a personal and intimate, behind-the-scenes perspective, including never-before-seen photos, she will tell how she got to where she is, how she has taken care of herself along the way, and how girls growing up can do it too, revealing the practical advice and lessons she's learned, from beauty and fashion secrets to fitness tips and career insights."

As previously announced, Michele will celebrate the release of her solo album "Louder" with an 11-country world tour this summer.
