2000 Kesselring Prize nominee Prince Gomolvilas is back in San Francisco with his latest play, Bee, making its world premiere March 30-April 15 at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre. Arturo Catricala, who recently directed Gomolvilas' Debunking Love at the New Conservatory Theatre Center, directs.

Set in Las Vegas, Bee is based around two characters, a Korean- American man who is invisible and the elderly African-American woman who is the only person who can see him. Traveling through Sin City, the unusual couple encounter an array of strangers, from a physics professor at rock bottom to an investigator of paranormal activities to a confused priest in search of spiritual answers. Throughout their journey, killer bees swarm around them, as do memories of the 1992 L.A. riots and the hope for human redemption.

Gomolvilas' credits include Big Hunk o' Burnin' Love, Seat Belts and Big Fat Buddhas and the award-winning The Theory of Everything. His Bee, commissioned by San Francisco's Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, will premiere in March, 2001.
