Paramount will host the event which pairs the film's Fleet Street denizen with modern-day macabre mavens at a Manhattan theatre. Even before the official release, the film has been garnering acclaim. Burton's take "Sweeney Todd" will hit movie theatres nationwide Dec. 21. John Logan ("The Aviator," "Gladiator," Never the Sinner) penned the DreamWorks/Warner Bros. film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical.
The film stars Depp as the title barber, Bonham Carter as piemaker Mrs. Lovett as well as Alan Rickman and Sacha Baron Cohen.
