News Gothic Fantasy Musical Nevermore Announces Off-Broadway Closing Date New World Stages has announced that Nevermore - The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe will play its final performance Off-Broadway March 29.

Written, composed and directed by Catalyst Theatre's Jonathan Christenson and designed by Bretta Gerecke, the show is a unique theatrical experience that combines haunting music, poetic storytelling and stagecraft to tell the life story of iconic American writer Edgar Allan Poe. With a Tim Burton-like aesthetic, Nevermore is billed as "at once gorgeous and grotesque."

The cast features Gaelan Beatty, Shannon Blanchet, Beth Graham, Ryan Parker, Garett Ross, Scott Shpeley and Lindsie VanWinkle with understudies Jennifer Byrne,Stephen Cerf, and Rob Morrison.

Following previews that began Jan. 14, Nevermore will have played a total of 84 performances.

Originally produced by Catalyst Theatre of Edmonton, Canada, in 2009 to commemorate the bicentennial of Poe's birth (Jan. 19, 1809), Nevermore has toured extensively, including sold-out engagements at London's Barbican Center and New York's New Victory Theatre in 2010.
