Grosses Grosses Analysis: Mean Girls Remains a Queen Bee on the Broadway Boards The musical adaptation saw a six-figure spike in the week ending September 23.

Mean Girls is showing no signs of backing down. The Broadway musical adaptation of the 2004 comedy grossed $1,298,393 in the week ending September 23—up over $108,000 from the week prior.

The boost brought the show to 97.73 percent of its potential gross and just three points shy of being back to 100 percent capacity (which it had maintained since beginning performances in March through August).

Meanwhile, Hamilton held onto the top spot as the only show to surpass $3 million. The Lion King and Frozen followed in second and third, with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child close behind. The Tony-winning, two-part play grossed $1,553,554 in eight performances, with 1,500 tickets to the Sunday, September 23, performances donated to the annual Lumos gala.
