The 9:30 PM performance, which will also celebrate the release of the documentary on DVD, will boast the talents of Ann Harada, Christine Toy Johnson, Raymond J. Lee, Deborah Lew, Jose Llana and Ann Sanders. The artists will perform songs from the 1946-47 Broadway season.
Tony Award winner Michele Pawk will direct the evening with musical direction by Marco Paguia.
"Transcending — The Wat Misaka Story," according to press notes, is a film "about Japanese American basketball star, Wat Misaka, who was the first person of color to be drafted into what is now the NBA by the 1947 Knicks.
