News HBO Buys Broadway Comedy "44th Street" NBC's Broadway series "Smash" is getting some company. HBO has picked up another Broadway-related property from "NewsRadio" creator Paul Simms, according to Deadline.com.

The new comedy, titled "44th Street," will center on two veteran stage actors struggling for success within the industry.

Simms was a writer for HBO's "The Larry Sanders Show" and "Boardwalk Empire." He also helped produce "Flight of the Concords."

Casting and dates of production have not been announced.
