Peter Morris's play will be read at 7 PM at the Ars Nova Theater. Directed by Michael Morris, the reading will feature the talents of Keith Nobbs and Miriam Shor. A Lucille Lortel Award winner for his performance in Four, Nobbs has also been seen on the New York stage in Dublin Carol, Fuddy Meers, Stupid Kids and Lion in Winter. Shor originated the role of Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch and repeated that role for the 2001 feature film; she has also been seen in Lanford Wilson's Book of Days and the City Center Encores! production of Hair. According to production notes, The Age of Consent is "a darkly satirical and unflinching exploration of the shattering of childhood innocence." Through interwoven monologues the play tells the stories of Timmy, who has been locked up since the age of ten, and the stage mother from hell, Stephanie.

Playwright Peter Morris, a staff writer for BBC1 and BBC Drama, is a two-time recipient of the Sunday Times Playwriting Prize. His works have been presented at Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theatre Club, Rattlestick, Steppenwolf, MCC and Soho Repertory.

The Ars Nova Theater is located in New York City at 511 West 54th Street. Presented by the Ars Nova Theater and the Underwood Theater, there is no charge to attend the Out Loud series, although reservations are required. Call (212) 977-1700.
