News High Fidelity Star and Composer to Help Hilton Harmony Tour in NYC Will Chase and Tom Kitt — the star and composer, respectively, of Broadway's upcoming musical High Fidelity — will give P.S. 166 students an exclusive sneak peek of the show and an interactive music lesson.

The event, part of the Hilton Harmony Tour, will take place Nov. 2 at the Hilton Times Square's Empire Room at 10 AM.

Chase — a Broadway veteran of Lennon, Rent and Aida — will perform an original piece from the show accompanied by composer Kitt (Laugh Whore, Debbie Does Dallas). The duo will then lead an interactive music lesson with the third-grade students before signing the Hilton Harmony Piano.

New York is the seventh stop on the nationwide tour launched by the Grammy Awards. As part of a goal to raise $100,000 for the support of music education programs, the priceless grand piano is traveling across the country.

Hilton is donating $1,000 to the cause for every artist that signs the piano, which already features more than 100 signatures — by such music industry folk as Bruce Springsteen, Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder.

* High Fidelity, starring Will Chase and Jenn Colella, begins on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre Nov. 20 and open Dec. 7. Walter Bobbie (Chicago, Sweet Charity) directs the new musical based on the Nick Hornby novel.

High Fidelity follows the story of record store owner Rob (and constant Top 5 listmaker) who — when things in his current relationship go sour — revisits his former relationships to find out where he went wrong.

Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Kimberly Akimbo, Fuddy Meers) penned the book with music by composer Tom Kitt (Laugh Whore, Debbie Does Dallas) and lyrics by Amanda Green (For the Love of Tiffany, Up The Creek Without A Paddle).

The 2000 film reset the Hornby story in Chicago (rather than England) and starred John Cusack, Jack Black, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lisa Bonet, Tim Robbins and Lili Taylor. The Broadway musical is set in New York's Brooklyn.

Chase has starred on Broadway in Lennon, The Full Monty, Aida, Rent and Miss Saigon. His regional credits include roles in Assassins, Mame, Electra, Son of Fire, You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow and Trask & Fenn. He was also part of the star-studded concert version of The Secret Garden.
