Canadian Stage Company is discovering that their audience for the play Trainspotting, is a young hip one. After selling out repeatedly for Friday late-night performances, they are adding another late-night show every Saturday beginning Feb. 21.
The regular 8 PM performance will change to 7 PM, followed by a 10:30 PM show. Late-night performance tickets are also cheaper than the regular $29 - $35 price, at $19 each.
Reviews of the North American premiere production, directed by Henry Gibson, have been mixed, ranging from accusations of sensationalism to kudos calling the show brilliant and unflinching.
Trainspotting runs at Canadian Stage Company, 26 Berkeley St, Downstairs Theatre, until March 14. For tickets call: 416-872-1111.
