News Hollywood Bowl Will Present Monty Python's Spamalot; Season Will Also Include Audra McDonald and "Sound of Music" The 2015 summer season at the Hollywood Bowl will include a semi-staged version of the Tony Award-winning musical Monty Python's Spamalot.

Featuring book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Idle, performances of the hit musical are scheduled for July 31-Aug. 2. Casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.

The season will also include a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the film version of The Sound of Music. Melissa Peterman will host Sing-A-Long "Sound of Music," which is scheduled for June 26.

The Bowl will also offer American Classics with Audra McDonald & American Ballet Theatre Sept. 1 and Sept. 3. Bramwell Tovey will conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the evenings will feature six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald as well as members of the American Ballet Theatre. McDonald will sing classics from Broadway and the American Songbook; dancers from ABT will bring to life Bernstein’s Fancy Free, using Jerome Robbins’ 1944 choreography.

Opening Night at the Bowl is scheduled for June 20. Among the other artists set for the upcoming season are Smokey Robinson, Harry Connick Jr., Sheryl Crow, Joshua Bell, Heart, Diana Krall and a starry tribute to the late Frank Sinatra.
