News Houdini Costumes Are The Show At Mexico's Fashion Cafe The music, magic acts and costume designs from the hit Mexican musical Houdini: La Magia del Amor (Houdini, The Magic of Love) are part of a new "fashion, magic & musical revue" which will premiere May 1 at Mexico City's Fashion Cafe.

The music, magic acts and costume designs from the hit Mexican musical Houdini: La Magia del Amor (Houdini, The Magic of Love) are part of a new "fashion, magic & musical revue" which will premiere May 1 at Mexico City's Fashion Cafe.

The 30-minute revue features a fashion exhibition with some of the costumes used in the musical, which is based in the life of the legendary magician-escape artist, Harry Houdini. Oriet Fernandez is the costume designer for the show.

Antonio Calvo, who composed the music and designed the magic acts for the musical, is making an special appearance in the fashion revue performing a levitation act.

Also featured in this revue is Enrique Chi, who was recently awarded by the Mexican Association of Theatre Journalists as Best Actor in a Musical for his superb portrayal of Harry Houdini. Chi appears in the revue singing "La Magia del Amor" ("The Magic of Love"), which is the love theme from the show.

Houdini world-premiered on Nov. 5, 1997 at Mexico City's Teatro Benito Juarez, where it continues to enjoy a highly successful open-ended run. The Houdini revue is scheduled to play May 1 & 8 at Mexico City's Fashion Cafe, which is owned by models Claudia Schiffer, Elle MacPherson, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington.
