Paula Vogel's How I Learned to Drive, currently in its second season Off-Broadway, will next be presented at London's prestigious Donmar Warehouse (the spawning ground for Broadway's new production of Cabaret), where Drive is scheduled to open June 18.
The U.K. version will be co-produced by the Donmar Warehouse and the Vineyard Theatre, where it originated. (The NY production, which moved last summer from the Vineyard to the larger Century Theatre, currently stars Deirdre Lovejoy and Cotter Smith.)
The award-winning play, a coming of age story about a teenage girl and the uncle who lusts after her, reportedly has been nominated for the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama (winners will be announced April 14).
John Crowley will direct the London production.
